Continuing the Journey of Mindfulness....
/Making Malas…Finding Peace
Positive Affirmations
Last night was amazing. Truth be told, I was as much of a follower as I was a leader of the group. I had planned the nights agenda, readied the space with candlelight, materials and of course a bit of chocolate but the evening took on a special magic of its own. The intimate group that gathers on Monday Nights has started to become cohesive in it’s own beautiful and unique way.
I am so grateful to be part of this energy.
Last night we made our own Mala beads and talked about the neuroplasticity of the brain and how we can change old thinking patterns if we want to. We delved into exploring positive affirmations and the ancient practice of chant and how we can utilize it in our own busy lives.
There was sharing, laughter, caring and support for each other. It was everything I want to be part of and contribute towards.
I am living proof you can change, grow and create your own reality. All you’ve got to do is believe in yourself, set your intentions and maintain a laser sharp focus.
If you’re ready, I can show you how….shoot me an email at pamelajoneshealy@gmail.com or hop onto my website mindfulmomentswithpam.com for upcoming workshop opportunities and/or individual mentoring.
I look forward to hearing from you :)
DECIDE
/Decide
So, Do it Decide.
Is this the life you WANT TO LIVE?
Is this the person you want to love?
Is this the best that you can be?
Can you be stronger?
Kinder?
More Compassionate?
Breathe in.
Breathe Out.
And Decide.

Same Old Walk but Whole New Perspective
/Riley my 12 year old lab loves to take this walk down the same old path day after day after day. The difference between he and I however, is simple. On one end of the leash theres me…following along with my thoughts on repeat and my steps on auto pilot. Round and round and round I go with my thoughts repeating stories from yesterday, last week, last month etc and STILL allowing myself to react emotionally to them! On the far end of the leash theres Riley, 100% and totally PRESENT on this walk, in his moment, on this adventure laid out in front of him. Every sniff a new piece of information about his surroundings. Every passerby a chance to expand his fan base. Every petting a moment to relish in the sense of touch. This got me thinking…he and I are in the same place at the same time experiencing mostly the same things ( except I haven’t been petted yet!) BUT only one of us is allowing for new healthier and happier neuro pathways to be built in our brains. The brain is like moldable plastic. Focus and Repetition on positive thoughts will create and maintain healthy happy positive thinking patterns!
The words we use dictate our thoughts. The thoughts we use dictate our actions. The actions we do dictate everything around us. Self awareness is key in shifting our thoughts into a positive and action focussed direction. When breaking down the negative pattern ask yourself these three important questions:
Is this a true statement or am I making up this story in my mind?
What is a new and fresh twist I can give this?
How can I use this thought to serve my highest self?
By practicing this you will shift your mind into a positive and active state.
Thanks for the reminder Riley! :)
"No Need To Hurry. No Need To Sparkle. No Need To Be Anyone But Oneself" Virginia Woolf
/So much gratitude for the chance to continue finding myself. I have spent so much time going inward, that it was a wonderful experience to be looking out at everyone present at last nights Workshop. This picture was snapped before peeps got here but the room was packed with eager like minded souls interested in obtaining some sense of inner calm and peace. Oh…but did I mention.. there was laugher……and chocolate too and so so much love.!!!
My journey to get here has been slow and steady. I have not always sparkled. I have been less than I wanted to be and disappointed in progress at times, but I have always been and always will be tenaciously me.
I kinda like it that way …….onwards! :)
Clear Your Mind, Your Heart is Trying To Tell You Something
/The Star
Those who know me well, know that every morning after my meditation, I read a short passage from an inspirational daily book and then…get to my favorite part of my morning routine…read my Tarot Cards! I bought my first deck when I was 16 and used to sit crosslegged on my bed for hours getting to know the energies behind each card! I still to this day am continuing to learn new things from the many decks and books I have that are dedicated to Tarot.
Today, I was so happy to have picked one of my favorite cards. I love this specific deck’s illustration of The Star. She reminds me of who I want to be. She is so utterly absorbed in the beauty of the water in which she sits that she is completely content to listen to the message from her heart. The fish are playful reminders relating to the sign of pisces and the water being poured from the jug relates to insight and wisdom and reminds me to look within for answers. The star is the light that guides the way and signifies hope. The message to me is “after the storm comes peace, and after the darkness comes light”. So beautiful :)
What You Do Matters
/Mindfulness and Meditation are two totally different practices. Meditation is a way of quieting the mind to enter a space of stillness and a respite from the busyness. Mindfulness is a practice of choosing how we are going to respond instead of react to the world we live in.
How will you respond today?
What you do matters.

* I met this gentleman in France during the summer of 2016. He seemed so entirely consumed by joy I asked if I could take his picture. Afterwards I asked him why he was so happy. In a heavenly delicious french accent he replied..."Because I choose to be"
I have never forgotten this valuable encounter with a stranger and the wisdom he shared. *

/Being present to the moments that life offers us can be an amazing journey.
Practicing Mindfulness can bring you there.
GET OUTTA YOUR HEAD AND INTO YOUR HEART
/Think Big From the Heart Not The Ego
“The ego is not who you really are. The ego is your self-image, it is your social mask, it is the role you are playing. Your social mask thrives on approval. It wants control, and it is sustained by power because it lives in fear.” Ram Dass
Laughter Is A Sunbeam Of The Soul
/"I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like the most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person." - Audrey Hepburn
Laughing wipes the slate clean, much like meditation. The results are so similar. Stress, anxiety, anger and obsessive thinking melt away when you allow yourself to boost endorphins while having a good chuckle. Laughter is also a wonderful way to connect with others as it is contagious and life affirming!
It is, without a doubt one of my greatest pleasures on this life's journey.
Here I am caught in the act! Join me, won't you?

Let Your Steps Follow Your Breath, Not The Other Way Around
/Let Your Steps Follow Your Breath, Not The Other Way Around
Growing up I was fortunate enough to spend summers at the beach. I spent my days watching endless hours unfold around me in no particular direction. As a child I allowed space for MINDFULNESS without struggling.....now as an adult I need to remind myself during my busy days to Stop, Pause and Connect to Breath moving forward in the direction it leads me. Allowing my days to unfold from the inside out has brought magic, mystery and much joy to my soul.
I wish the same for each of you. :)
Lets Talk Karma!
/Lets Talk Karma!
By now you've heard the saying "Your vibe attracts your tribe!" You may be wondering...well ya...but what does Karma have to do with it?
The way I was taught and the way I teach others about Karma isn't based on an old fashioned wives' tale point of view. From that perspective you're screwed if you misbehaved in a past life and doomed to come back as a warted toad if you've been an ass in this current life. Lets be honest people that scenario is pretty darn depressing! Why bother getting out of bed at all? We've all acted less than stellar on occasion so...where's the hope there?
But Wait! Theres more to it! Karma refers to the law of cause and effect. It means that what we do and how we act create our future experiences. If we are angry at a lot of people, we start to live in a climate of hate. People will be angry with us. This law of cause and effect depends on our intentions behind our actions. If we cultivate a climate of calm, understanding, thoughtfulness and acceptance that is what will be available to us in turn.
Karma is about acting and living in a way NOW that enables the Universe and its inhabitants to energetically reflect those actions back to you.
Ask yourself, what do I want my life to look like? Then start acting as if it already does...because it will!
Reading Suggestion
/Reading Suggestion
Whether you are a complete newbie to this mindfulness stuff or as comfortable with it as if its like putting on an old worn comfy sweater....this book is sure to inspire and delight you!
Honestly, I think I have read it 5 times! I love how the author has intertwined the ancient concepts of Buddhism through a current new age story from the point of view of your average middle aged westernized american brother, his metaphysically minded sister and her side kick a self declared eastern taught guru. I have received so much information from this book all served up in a warm, funny, meaningful and thought provoking style that hits right to the core.
Get ready to see yourself in the characters and laugh out loud while doing so!
ENJOY!
